In May of this year, Sony took a peek at the PlayStation Portal, the PS5 device dedicated to remote play, and about 10 days ago, the company announced the prices of the device and now it has announced its official launch date.
According to the company, the PlayStation Portal player will be launched in select markets on November 15, as the device is available for pre-order in the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Italy, Spain, and Portugal.
Starting September 29, the PlayStation Portal player can also be pre-ordered from select other retailers in these countries, in addition to Canada and Japan, and the company said details of the launch and sale in other countries will be announced at a later date.
When we first heard about Project Q, our expectations were that it was an integrated portable device similar to the Sony PSP and PS Vita portable devices, and it did not take long until the Sony Playstation Portal portable device was officially announced, which would be released later this year, with disappointment. That overshadowed a large portion of players.
The PlayStation Portal will be limited to playing PS5 games remotely, with full support for the features of the DualSense wireless controller, including adaptive triggers and tactile feedback. It features an 8-inch LCD screen with a resolution of 1080 pixels at a rate of 60 frames per second. This will provide you with a fairly high definition visual experience.
PlayStation Portal price:
The PlayStation Portal player is priced at $199.99, €219.99, £199.99, or 29,980 yen.
PlayStation Portal features:
The company says PlayStation Portal brings the PS5 experience to the palm of gamers' hands.
“PlayStation Portal is the perfect device for home gamers where they may need to share their living room TV or simply want to play PS5 games in another room in the house, and PlayStation Portal will remotely connect to your PS5 over Wi-Fi, so you can play .
Players can play supported games on PlayStation Portal installed on players' PS5 consoles and using the Dualsense controller. There is also a 3.5mm audio jack for wired audio, but PS VR2 games, which require a headset, and games streamed through PlayStation Cloud Streaming Plus Premium, not supported.
Playstation Portal between supporters and opponents:
After generally speaking about Sony's new Playstation Portal device, we noticed many comments saying that the device does not offer anything that would make players think about buying it. Some of them do not even consider it merely an essential and indispensable “accessory.” On the other hand, some believe that it will contribute to enriching the experience of playing from home or outside in one way or another.
Do not forget that the device does not offer a cloud gaming experience, nor does it have its own game library, because it is not intended for that in the first place, in addition to not supporting Bluetooth technology and being limited to supporting expensive headphones that support the PlayStation Link feature, which Sony owns, such as the Pulse Elite. It is not clear whether it can play Pulse 3D headphones or others through the 3.5mm input.
It does not seem to me that Sony ignored that it introduced, in partnership with Backbone, a special holder for the mobile phone called Backbone One !
What made us want even more to know the trends of our followers was a poll conducted by the Pushsquare website, which showed that a significant percentage, “the overwhelming majority” of a total of 5,720 players, showed that they were not interested in the device or even thinking about getting it.
Will you buy the device when it is released? Do not hesitate to share your opinions about the Sony Playstation Portal.
